Unlocking the Secrets to Efficient workover Rig Operations: Safety Made Simple
workover rigs are an indispensable part of oilfield services. Whether for routine maintenance or complex downhole operations, these rigs play a critical role. TJ Petro is dedicated to providing customers with efficient, safe, and reliable workover rig equipment, helping them maintain high operational efficiency in various work environments.
1. Basic Principles and Structure of workover rigs
workover rigs are designed to meet the fundamental needs of downhole well servicing and sidetracking operations, with three main functions:
Equipment Safety and Reliability
We understand that safety and reliability are customers' top concerns during workover rig operations. TJ Petro's workover rigs are specifically designed to enhance these aspects, ensuring each unit can maintain stable operation in high-pressure, high-load environments.
Safety Features: workover rigs are equipped with emergency shutdown and overload protection systems, ensuring that operations can be stopped immediately in case of malfunction to prevent equipment damage and accidents. Additionally, safety lock features stabilize the equipment during operations, reducing the risk of dangerous situations due to operator error.
Reliability: Through comprehensive testing and strict quality control, our workover rigs are capable of long-term stable operation in a variety of complex work environments, with outstanding durability.
To help customers fully master the operation and maintenance of workover rig equipment, TJ Petro recently organized an “Equipment Performance Practical Training Day.” The training was hosted by industry experts and company technical leaders, drawing numerous customers and technical personnel to participate.
Opening Speech
Company Technical Director Mr. Li emphasized the importance of safety and efficiency in equipment operation during his opening remarks, stating, “The performance of the equipment is not only in its design but also in the precise use by each operator. Our goal is to ensure that every customer can master the functions of the workover rig to maximize operational efficiency.”
Hands-On Training
The technical team conducted detailed explanations of the equipment's operating procedures through load testing, focusing on techniques for handling high-load scenarios. Using the real-time monitoring system of the equipment, participants were able to see firsthand how the equipment performs under different conditions, gaining insight into adjusting operating parameters based on job requirements.
Emergency Response Drills
We also simulated common equipment malfunction scenarios, such as overheating and sudden shutdowns. Participants observed the functioning of the emergency shutdown and overload protection systems and were guided on how to respond quickly in extreme conditions to ensure on-site safety
Finally, Professor Wang, a senior technical consultant, concluded the training by stating, “No matter how advanced the equipment is, proper operation and emergency response are key. Through this training, participants not only learned how to improve equipment efficiency but, more importantly, how to ensure operational safety.”
The training event was a resounding success, boosting customer confidence in the equipment and deepening their understanding of safety assurance. TJ Petro will continue to uphold the “customer first” philosophy and regularly organize similar events to provide comprehensive technical support and service to customers.
Hoisting Operations: Using a winch system and traveling system, workover rigs can easily perform hoisting and lowering operations of drill tools. Powered by an onboard engine, the rig features specific hoisting capacity and speed, allowing for versatile operations even under challenging conditions.
Rotary Function: The rotary function of a workover rig relies on components such as the rotary table, swivel, and kelly. These systems provide the necessary torque and rotational speed for downhole operations, making them suitable for drilling, milling, fishing, and other downhole activities.
Mobility: With a specialized self-propelled chassis design, workover rigs feature excellent off-road capability and mobility. The engine powers both the chassis movement and downhole operations, ensuring rapid deployment to well sites and quick start of work.
